When sales of Gibson’s original Les Paul guitars began to flag, a new banner was raised. In 1961 the Les Paul SG was launched. Les Paul himself never seemed so very fond of them, but that is not why he asked for his name to be removed from the instruments. It seems his divorce from Mary Ford was acrimonious enough to encourage Les not to have any extra streams of revenue floating around in public. Go figure…
Our special guest this week is Adam Ian Sykes, lead guitarist in the UK-based band Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs. A gracious Mr. Sykes put up with our questions while sitting backstage at a club in England, waiting for his band to hit the stage and destroy everyone’s souls with their psych-doom. Enjoy!
