Episode 270 - Gibson LG-2

During WWII, production at Gibson’s Kalamazoo, MI plant was scaled back; raw materials were scarce, and labor was need for the war effort. Into this void came the little LG Series guitars. Made predominantly by women taking the place of serving soldiers, these wartime “banner” instruments are considered some of the finest to ever be produced. We’ve got a 1949 example, and it sings.
