Episode 162 - The Alamo Titan II
After learning electronics and serving in WWII, New Jersey native Charles Eilenberg left home for San Antonio, TX - and never looked back. He was pivotal in creating Alamo, the company that created record players, radios, lap steel guitars, amplifiers, and the Titan II electric guitar we’re looking at in this episode. In a time that would see guitar sales skyrocket, overseas competition increase, and fortunes fail, Chuck’s guitars held their own, and stand up today. Enjoy!
Beverages!
Podcasting is thirsty work; it’s crucial that everyone involved stay hydrated. The following fine beverages contributed to the success of this episode: Ed eschewed beets and carrots in this week's juicing nightmare, but appeared quite pleased with the result nonetheless. And the new machine has not sucked anyone in with its turbine-like power. Fingers crossed. John went back to one of our favorites - Orca beverages! A fan of ginger beer since before it was cool, he enjoyed a refreshing Cock N Bull. This week’s beverage intro song clip, performed (mostly) live in-studio was Run Like the Wind by Christopher Cross.
