Episode 182 - The Framus Strato Deluxe with Special Guest Hutch Harris

After WWII, Fred Wilfer was among the Germans expelled from Czechoslovakia. Upon his return to Germany, he gathered up as many other instrument makers as he could. He founded the Franconia Musical Instrument Company, from which the brand name Framus was derived. Eventually rising to the rank of the most prolific musical instrument manufacturer in Europe, our example is a Strato Deluxe from 1966.

Our esteemed guest for this episode is Hutch Harris. You already know who he is because you’re a massive fan of his well-known band The Thermals. Hutch has a new solo record out, and you’re gonna need it to round out your emergency preparedness kit. It’s called Suck Up All The Oxygen and you can get it HERE

Beverages!

Podcasting is thirsty work; it’s crucial that everyone involved stay hydrated. The following fine beverages contributed to the success of this episode: It turns out that Special Guest Hutch Harris is a professional water drinker. Of course, we all need it to survive, but Hutch lives to drink it. The more you know... Ed is back on his juicing game, after what looks now like a brief fling with some local kombucha. John enjoyed a Happy Moose cold pressed juice. The slogan? "Stop Trippin', Start Sippin'" Wonder how many people were on the committee that thought that one up... This week’s beverage intro song clip, performed (a little bit) live in-studio was Running On The Spot by The Jam.
