Episode 236 - Gibson Firebird Reissue

In 1963, Gibson introduced the Firebird Guitar. Even after its forward-looking designs of 1958 failed to catch on, they were undaunted. Ted McCarty, the president of Gibson, hired Raymond Dietrich, a renowned automobile designer, to come up with something new. Perhaps based on the large-finned cars of the time, the Firebird was launched, and promptly failed to catch on. Until much later. Now considered a classic, this instrument seems to speak more to our own times than it did its own. Enjoy!

Beverages!

Podcasting is thirsty work; it’s crucial that everyone involved stay hydrated. The following fine beverages contributed to the success of this episode: Ed was pounding that good ol' protein powder again. John enjoyed another Olipop - this time Ginger Lemon. He loves that snap.
